Newsome Community Forum began in 1997, bringing together residents, community organisations and people working across the area.
Over the years the Forum has helped local groups find funding, supported activities for children and older people, campaigned for important local places and created opportunities for neighbours to meet and work together.
The full history is being prepared as an accessible timeline so these achievements are not lost and future volunteers can build on them.
