Only the information the website needs

The public website does not use advertising, marketing trackers or a public contact form.

Public visitors

The hosting provider processes basic technical logs, such as IP address, browser details and requested pages, to deliver and protect the website. The website does not use this information to build advertising profiles.

We also summarise these hosting logs to understand which website pages are used. The editor's activity panel shows approximate daily page-view totals and popular pages, not visitors' IP addresses or individual browsing histories. No additional analytics cookies are used.

Volunteer editors

Approved editors sign in through Amazon Web Services. AWS processes the editor’s email address, essential sign-in information and an audit trail needed to secure the service. Self-registration is disabled.

Public content

Volunteers must only publish photographs, documents and contact details that are approved for public use. Policy review copies containing private contact details are kept out of the public website and are reviewed before publication.
